Regatta Volunteer Page

Regattas are major operations.  It takes a lot of planning and coordination, and a lot of people, to organize a race involving many teams and hundreds of individual participants.  As a member school of the National Capital Area Scholastic Rowing Association (NCASRA), TC Crew supplies volunteers for the NCASRA regattas in which we participate, at Georgetown and the Occoquan.

Each year, volunteer jobs are allocated to member schools in proportion to the number of participants on a team.  These jobs range from driving launches for the judge-referees to timing races at the finish line to flipping burgers to collecting money in the parking lot.

At the beginning of the season, we'll know which jobs we have to fill during the season, and you'll have a chance to sign up for the job you want.  It's important that we fill all the jobs we're assigned.  Not only are they important to the regatta, we're fined $50 for each unfilled job or no-show.

ACB volunteer coordinator Denise Ottie has provided all the information you need to know about our regatta jobs this year.  Now it's up to you.  Click here to read about it, and SIGN UP!
