FAQ's

1. Can I miss registration day or up to a week of the program?
Yes! We prefer in-person registration, but if you cannot make it on June 26 you can send in your registration form with a friend, or bring your forms on the first day of practice or upon your return. We will accept registrations for the first week or until our program is full. The programs are meant to be fun and not super competitive. A week missed is no big deal (just let your coach know!) but we cannot offer refunds for missed sessions.

2. Which program is appropriate for a high school rower?
Sculling is for experienced/varsity rowers to learn how to scull or work on their current skills. Intermediate Sweep is for rowers who have at least one competitive year (spring racing season). Novice Sweep is for brand new rowers.

3. Can rowers from other school participate?
Yes!  Rowers can be from any school system and still participate in our program.

4. Do I need a swim test or physical?
Adult rowers can sign a waiver for themselves attesting that they can swim and are healthy enough to participate. Youth Intermediate rowers must have a swim test and physical on file with their school. We do not need a copy of physicals or swim tests. Youth rowers need their parents to sign a waiver that they are healthy enough to participate in this sport.

Novice Youth rowers will be required to take a swim test. We will offer swim tests on Saturday, June 25 at 1:00 pm at Chinquapin Recreation Center on King St. next to TC Williams high school.  Parents may also sign swim test cards if they have seen their child complete 2 laps (100m) and tread water for 2 minutes, only for those participants who cannot make the swim test or any make-ups offered.
