Azim grew up in Alexandria, VA and is a product of the T.C. Williams Crew program. After rowing nonstop in high school he decided to take a break from rowing and focus on academics. Graduating from Radford University (Radford, VA) with a degree in Political Science and History, he moved to Northern Virginia in 2007.  Not being able to stay away from rowing he joined the coaching staff on the women's side in 2009. He has coached women's novice, freshmen and junior varsity crews for the last few years and was lucky to coach the 2010 women's third varsity eight to a state championship. His wife Noelle teaches for ACPS and they both love their baby son Maks. Azim looks forward to being a part of the T.C. Williams Crew tradition for many years to come.
